Is Your Yoke Broken?

Isaiah 10:27 - So it will be in that day, that his burden will be removed from your shoulders and his yoke from your neck, and the yoke will be broken because of fatness. (NASB)

Isaiah 10:27 - And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.

The question which titles this post came to me months ago, in September, in fact.  Why it has taken me so long to write this post is hard to explain.  I have come back to it over and over again, but I guess it just was not time.

But now it seems good to me to ask by the unction of the Spirit:  Is your yoke broken?  I probably needed to answer the question for myself before I could ask it of anyone else.  I can now say that the yoke of oppression and depression has been broken off my life and destroyed because of the anointing of God.  I had to step away from "doing" in order to "be" for a while.  But the Lord was with me through it all.

The interesting thing is once the anointing destroyed a yoke, I had to replace it with another - the one the Lord Himself offers (Matthew 11:29).  The Lord Jesus encourages us to take His yoke upon us and learn of him.  Yes, after 20+ years of salvation, I had to do it again.  Why?  Because I let His yoke sit on top of the ones that had not been destroyed (even though I told myself they were).  And because the yokes were conflicting, His yoke could not serve its full purpose in my life.

What about you?  Have you truly let the anointing of God destroy every yoke in your life?  If so, you have done well.  But please go the next step and let the yoke of the Lord Jesus Christ rest upon you.

The yoke is important.  It is designed to connect two forces together.  In agriculture, it is used to guide and control beasts of burden while leveraging their strength into one cohesive unit.  It helped to balance the strength of those yoked together.

When we take on the yoke of the Lord, we are connected to Him for purpose.  His strength compensates where ours fails.  The Spirit of God holds the reins and directs our steps, giving them an intended aim.  And we are sure to stay in step when we are yoked together.  Christ's yoke, though lighter than the others that we are used to, is far superior to any other.  It helps us walk in integrity, humility, and power.  It is interesting that once we have willingly taken the yoke upon us, we are invited to learn of Him (Matthew 11:29).  I love how the Lord describes it:

Come unto me, all [ye] that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.  For my yoke [is] easy, and my burden is light. (Matthew 11:28-30).

See?  You don't have to carry the heavy burdens of life anymore.  It's amazing how many of us, even born again believers, are walking around with heavy loads. But if you surrender to Christ and let His anointing destroy all the other yokes that are holding you in the bondage of slavery, you can take the lightest yoke of all upon you and begin to walk in divine rest.

Have your yokes of heavy burden been broken?  Don't give them time to mend themselves together.  Broken is not good enough.    Destroy them through the power of the anointing of the Holy Ghost!
