Is Your Yoke Broken?

Isaiah 10:27 - So it will be in that day, that his burden will be removed from your shoulders and his yoke from your neck, and the yoke will be broken because of fatness. (NASB)

Isaiah 10:27 - And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.

The question which titles this post came to me months ago, in September, in ...

Driving with Both Feet

Posted at 10:27 PM on December 14, 2009 Comments comments (0)

I went to a leadership class last week and found out that for as many years as I can remember, I have been driving my life with both feet.

Now I know you may think I have lost my mind, but give me a moment to explain.  What I learned is that no matter how motivated you are to do something big, no matter how fast you are trying to drive, many times there is an unconscious foot on the brake that stops your progress (Thanks, Dr. Story!).  In other words, as hard as y...

Do You Have Room?

Posted at 08:03 PM on November 01, 2009 Comments comments (0)

This is a simple question.  Do you have room?  As you look around your life, at your accumulation of things, do you have room for something new?  As you check your schedule and mark your to-do lists, do you have room for a change of pace?

We have to leave room in our lives for the Spirit of God to intervene and change things around.  As I read the Bible, I find that the people God used were busy,...

Go Ahead!

Posted at 01:29 AM on August 09, 2009 Comments comments (1)

Sometimes I wonder what the holdup is. Do you know what I mean? There are so many people that I talk to who feel God calling them to bigger and better things than they are doing right now. But for some reason, they are not moving forward. So what is the holdup? Why don't we move forward? It seems to me that the answer is fear. We are afraid of rejection, afraid that some person will not like what we are doing, afraid that we will not receive external validation f...

Time Brings About a Change

Posted at 09:01 AM on July 06, 2009 Comments comments (0)

Right now I am thinking about the hymn that says, "time is filled with swift transition, none on earth unmoved can stand; build your hopes on things eternal, hold to God's unchanging hand."

It seems to me that one thing that is sure is that time will bring about a change.  No matter what your current state, you can remain hopeful, because with the passage of time, things will change.  Now I know that all change ...

A New Prayer

Posted at 12:15 AM on June 21, 2009 Comments comments (0)

I just finished my broadcast on blogtalkradio, and something hit me:  I am encouraged to pray a new prayer. For many years I have prayed that certain things would happen in my life.  I have prayed for deliverance, I have prayed for change.  I have prayed about my problems, my fears, my concerns.  But tonight I say to you again, I am encouraged to pray a new prayer.

You may wonder what that prayer is, m...

Setting the House in Order

Posted at 12:20 AM on May 21, 2009 Comments comments (0)

Have you felt the need lately to set your house in order?  To get your affairs straight?  I have!

I feel as if I heard the Lord telling me it is time to be ready for the next level.  One of the ways to get there is to make sure that I have done all that I am supposed to do on this level.  And that is where the order must come in.

I don't know abo...

The Original Social Network

I just had a thought.  I was reviewing the page I recently set up at www.blackpreachingnetwork.com/profile/catrinablount and how I have been able to link it to my other blog, located at http://catrinablount.blogspot.com.  Having all these avenues to stay in touch...

Alive and Well

Posted at 11:46 PM on April 25, 2009 Comments comments (0)

I just wanted you to know that I am alive and well. By alive, I mean that I have been quickened by the Spirit of the Lord.  The circumstances of life have tried to triumph over me, tried to make me feel that my purpose was dead.  But thanks be to God!  He let me know that if I have the Spirit of God inside of me, I can be raised, even from the dead.

Celebrating God's Awesome Presence

Posted at 12:52 AM on April 17, 2009 Comments comments (0)
My home church is moving into a celebration mode during the week of April 20, 2009. We are having what is called the "Apostle's Celebration" which will honor our spiritual leaders. The theme for this meeting is "Celebrating God's Awesome Presence!" Can you celebrate God's awesome presence in this midst of whatever you are going through? Our circumstances should not diminish our view of God. If they do, we are going through without the benefit of the presence of God. The word tells us, "You will ... Read Full Post »
